I was looking to play around some more with shading with pen, but I wasn’t interested in shading spheres and cylinders for the sake of repetition just to get my lines better.  Instead I searched for a zentangle pattern that would engage me, and it turns out that Frost Flower did the trick.  I improved my lines, learned what worked better, and played around with the pattern itself to get different looks.  I filled in my journal page picking it up now and then over 4 days.  Here’s the result…

I found that even though it was repetitious it wasn’t boring because I was watching each Frost Flower emerge on the page, it was very meditative.
