24hour Comic progress…

.

Whew! I did it! 24 pages… it took me about 28 active hours ( or 4 days), but I did it. Woohoo!

Man was I brain tired last night, heh. Somehow I was able to do 9 pages in 4 active hours yesterday. What?! It’s so cool to see what you can do when you challenge yourself. Definitely not going to do the marathon method daily, but it’s nice to know what I am capable of. Also, to be clear, none of the pages are the kind of quality I’ve been posting. No, these are black&white, and many of the pages are just ideas slapped down on the page, as clear as I could make them, but sometimes just stick figures, hahaha.

Several times during the last four days, I oscillated between ‘this story is boring, no one cares’ to ‘this is a great exercise and I’m drawing all kinds of things I don’t know how to draw’. So that’s where I am right now, I think that this a great exercise in honing my craft. The story was interesting enough to me, so that will have to be enough.

So I’m going to spend the next few days of Inktober, posting pages as I refined them. I’m going to have to keep reminding myself not to noodle too long on each page. Yesterday, I had a timer so that I could finish the last nine pages, I’ll probably have to setup some kind of ‘finish the page in x amount of time’, so that I won’t dawdle in the weeds.

So that’s the plan. I meant to write this last night, but I was just.too.tired. I hope to refine a page or two today and then post again tonight, wish me luck.

Until next time
