As I said in yesterday’s post, the crows were harassing Mama Owl. If you do a quick search on the internet it appears that owls and crows are natural enemies. I didn’t see the crows harassing the owl last year, but then again I didn’t know about the owl until after the eggs had hatched.

But the second owl (perhaps last year’s little one?) did their best to protect her by lunging and flying at the crows…

I still have some video to edit, but just ran out of time today.

I checked in on Mama Owl today, and she was sitting there sleeping, not sure where the other owl was… but the thing to note is that the crows weren’t harassing her. Today was windy and a little colder so maybe that’s why the crows weren’t out. I’ll check on her again tomorrow.
