Hey guys, due to rain and life stuff I haven’t been able to take photos of the owls for 9 days… but spoiler alert: the two owlets are fine, and much much bigger.

Last we saw, the owlets looked like the photo on the left, and now they look like the photo on the right:

Maybe I have a weird sense of humor, but I find it amusing the way Mama Owl looks into my soul and gives me all the dirty looks. So I decided to make a collage of her evil looks, and you can see the owlets behind her as well. One seems to be more daring and shows themselves more often (on Mama Owl’s right)… but there is another one behind her on the other side (on Mama Owl’s left) who might actually be bigger than the one we can see easily. In the days to come, I will try to capture better images of the growth of these little ones.

Also all these dirty looks she’s giving me is why you won’t see me trying to get any closer to that cave, she knows what I look like… and I’m pretty sure birds remember faces, I’m not going to risk it.

I find it fascinating how she can still hide the two owlets given how big they’ve gotten!

I also took a little video, you can see the two owlets moving around behind her (I’m pretty sure they are eating) and then the one owlet hangs out next to her while she gives me the best dirty looks. I also figured out how to stabilize the video today, so I was able to remove most of the camera shake due to the day being pretty windy.

I have a couple of frame captures from the video that I thought would help out with figuring out what’s going on…
