Last we saw Mama Owl was still hiding the owlets, then oddly the next day she was all… go ahead and be over there kids…

I’ve been trying to figure out how to have 19 photos on one post without it seeming overwhelming. Then it occurred to me that I could put the photos in slideshows. So I’ve grouped a few sets of photos into slideshows.

I originally thought I’d take photos from a different vantage point, but the owls had other ideas… they were all tucked into the cave and hard to see from the new vantage point… so I quickly moved to my usual spot and was much happier. When the light is good for my camera, it’s not so good for the owls’ eyes I would imagine, so they stayed hidden in the cave shadows until the good light was gone. But through the magic of post-processing, I was able to allow us to see what they were doing in there… ahh giving me dirty looks, ok, the usual.

I thought the relationship between the siblings was really cute…

The owlet’s eyes are really starting to develop… they are looking more yellow now…

I was also able to get a little bit of video… I was able to capture Mama Owl yawning! She also had a nice interesting stretch.
