Hey guys, today’s photoshoot was a bit different. Mama Owl stepped to the edge around 5:45pm, but didn’t fly away… the Owlets did not practice their jumps either… they just stretched and scratched a lot. Then out of nowhere, Mama Owl flew away around 6:15pm!

We waited and waited for Mama Owl to come back… I saw the owlets hide on the side of the cave, but they were such good hiders that I started to doubt myself.

After waiting 45 minutes watching the light wane, and worried about the rain cloud overhead, I changed to another location to see if I could see in the cave.

It was soooo dark by then, and cold and windy… but through the magic of editing I was able to get this for us to see.

Then I sped up the movie to 8x so that we could see the movement easier… the little owlet is watching for Mama Owl.

Then it started to sprinkle and I headed home. I’ll check on them in the morning… hopefully Mama Owl returned.
