Hey guys, I’ve been wanting to do some macro photography with my 5x lens and ring flash… but it has been so long since I’ve used flash that I had to do a little refresher today.

I went out looking for a few specimens for subjects and came across a little yellow flower in the grass, and a couple of daisies.

Edit: It looks like the ‘daisies’ might be California Brittlebush (California Bush/Coast Sunflower). It’s in the Aster/Daisy/Sunflower family, so I wasn’t too far off. And the little yellow flowers in the grass, look like they might be Yellow Sweetclover.

First I played with the daisy…

Then the little yellow flowers from the grass… apparently there was a little bug too…

Then I went back out and found another daisy with little pollen puffs on it…

These were all several photos focus stacked in Photoshop.

Also, a little update about Duke… he took a bit longer bounce back from surgery this time… he was a bit loopy for like 48 hours… we took him on wagon rides so that he could go outside but not overtax himself… such a cutie…
