Hey guys! Somehow it’s already Thursday… I was going to say Friday because the day of the week seems hard to remember lately… oh well. Anyway, I have some show and tell…

I’m still working thru this gesture class, I think I’m starting to get the hang of it… for some reason the bean shape is difficult for me… weird. I’ll get it with practice. The live gesture get-together that I’ve been doing on the weekend didn’t happen, so instead I worked on this prerecorded class… and I worked on drawing a tree…

The tree is part of this class, which is a prerecorded class I’m doing in tandem with some of my Creative Club forum friends…

Next up, I started this class, which is learning how to paint watercolor digitally, it is another prerecorded class I’m doing in tandem class I’m doing with my Creative Club forum friends. There is a bit of a learning curve with the brushes and so after following along, and then doing the second row by myself and finding I was questioning the next steps… I watched the video again and took notes. Then I ‘tested’ myself using my notes to do a third row… I had some difficulty with the second petal and so after attempting it twice, watched the video again to see how to do that one petal and did another one following along. Overall, I think I’m getting the hang of it and will move on to the next lesson soon…

As for live events, I attended two so far this week and I have another tomorrow morning. One was a town hall, where they talked about how Creative Club is going (it’s only a month old now) and where they are going to improve and add changes we’ve requested. Yesterday, I attended a live event where Aaron Blaise (one of the animators for ‘The Lion King’ and many other Disney films) showed us his process for drawing a fantasy character (the replay is available for free to watch until July 29th, if you are interested)… it was neat to watch and see that it isn’t magic, it is a process that we can all learn and get better at… very inspiring.

Well, I get back to it… so much to learn.
