Hey guys… it’s been a while. Sooo Duke seems to be defying the odds and says he’s not done yet, which is awesome. He finds the energy to say hi to his human friends, and tries to play with his canine friends… He does have a bit less energy, eats a bit less, and doesn’t walk as far as he used to… but he is out of the wagon and seems to have adopted Penny‘s philosophy of ‘play hard, sleep hard’. I’ll take it… I’ll take all the extra time I can get.

I’ve been attending a few live online classes this past month as well, some are group coaching, or demos, but some are draw-alongs… so here’s my versions. For the blooms and lettering, we started at ‘the ugly stage’ and then added tweaks to make it better – a good class because most classes don’t teach you how to push thru ‘the ugly stage’. The Fairy was a general outline and we drew the face and hair, we also did some painting – we ran out of time so some of it is done rather quickly, but a fun and informative class. We had a town hall, the second half we all drew together… the prompt was Monster with Coffee… this is my version (I drew my Inktober Monster, Cotton Candy, with coffee). 🙂

I’ve also taken an at-your-own-pace class called, Autobiographical Comic Book: Illustrate Your Experiences. It was a really good class and so I started working on my own one page comic… but quickly realized it needed to be two pages. I’m still working on it… but here it is so far… (click to enlarge)

I’ve been spending quite a few hours outside at a table covered with a huge umbrella… it’s right along the path of most of Duke’s friends’ outings… it’s a great location for him to see his friends, and a place for me to sit and work on my comic. He says it’s time to go out there… so I need to pack up my stuff.
Until next time…
