Inktober 2024…

This year’s Inktober was interesting for me. In previous years, I let the notion of finishing and posting an art piece daily drive me, and then drive me to burnout. I start each year with excitement, and the idea that I’m creating a habit of drawing daily, only to burnout and crash and do absolutely nothing in November. I try to tell myself each year, this year will be different, only to crash and burn anyway.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m in mourning and I’m not interested in doing anything conventional right now, but I think I enjoyed this Inktober the most. I didn’t let finishing a piece daily get in my way, the piece takes as long as it takes. And I posted when I was ready to show it. That laid back formula really worked for me this year. On top of that, I didn’t follow a 31-day prompt list, instead I let my muse decide what to do. Not only that, I mixed doing digital and traditional… whatever my muse was interested in doing. And what’s neat is that I’m not burned out! I still feel like drawing and will continue to draw this November, yay me for figuring it out eventually. Today I worked on a piece, but I’m going to post it tomorrow, because it will be more fitting. So instead, I’ll just show the diverse collection of this month’s art pieces. Twelve pieces, not bad…

Until next time…
