Some new ideas have been floating around my head the last few months… It’s not lost on me that I draw more than I take nature photographs lately. So I’ve added a new domain to this blog that reflects that change in my art journey. You can still get here by going to photography-by-nic.com, but now you can also get here by going to digitalartbynic.com. I also changed my blog name to reflect this as well. I guess you can say I’m rebranding a little. Life has taken me on a little detour the last few years and I’m going to embrace it. I really enjoy drawing cute and fun illustrations and I’d like to keep doing that for awhile.

That said, my muse decided on Sunday that she wanted to draw a cute pattern for Valentine’s Day wrapping paper. Then I went online to see which print-on-demand site had wrapping paper… and found Zazzle. I’ve heard good things about Zazzle, so I signed up and created a store.

The last few days I’ve been learning the new interface and adding my design to things I thought would be fun for Valentine’s day…

After I created the wrapping paper I thought of things similar to wrapping gifts…

• tissue paper, flat wrapping paper, bags, boxes, ribbon

Then I thought about fun things to gift…

• tie, socks, chocolates, mug, towels

Then I thought about what might be fun for a Valentine’s party with cake and drinks…

• paper plates, cups, napkins, hat

I put them all in a Valentine’s collection…

Is it too much? Probably. Was it fun to create? Absolutely!
