Work harder, not smarter… oh wait… that’s not how it goes…
Sometimes, it really does feel like I’m doing things the hard way, when seriously, there was probably a waaay easier way to do it.
I’ve been adding more artwork to my POD (print-on-demand) sites… and there were some pieces that I really liked that I thought, “hey, I should put this on a card or something”.
That’s when it occurs to me that I did it the hard way. Case in point… I drew this cute skunk smelling flowers and doing a handstand for Inktober2024… I thought, “this says, ‘Hello Spring!’ to me, it might make a cute card”.

BUT, guess what…. even though I did the original sketch digitally, I did the inking and the watercolor painting traditionally. I probably could have just scanned it in, but instead… this weekend, I re-inked and painted it digitally. Only to remember that I had set the original sketch to 4×6 inches, meaning I could only put the final piece on a few products due to the limited number of pixels. Harder, not smarter. Oh well… as they say, “FAIL = First Attempts in Learning”. Hopefully, I’ll learn from my mistakes.
Anyway… I did find some cute products to put it on, along with two other pieces this weekend.
