Hey All!

That’s a weird blog post title, hehe.

Yesterday, we had a constant barrage of fire alarm test noise, as they tested the alarm for every apartment. Which would have been fine if it was only heard in each apartment, but it was building-wide and it was LOUD. The noise started around 8 am and continued until around 1 pm. I had my headphones on sound cancellation and it blocked out most of the sound.

But at 9am I had a Live Online Class to attend… Luckily it was a Make Hour session, so it was just hanging out with art friends, talking and doing art for 2 hours (I was on mute, obviously). Someone asked Peggy to come up with a prompt because they wanted to draw something but didn’t know what… so she pulled this set of variables out of the ether… basically it was a Valentine UFO, with a color palette of pinks, black, and olive green accents…

This is what came out of my brain…

I completely forgot the black, which is wild because that is totally my style, black outlines. I think it speaks to how overwhelmed I was from the constant alarms.

We got the email around 1pm that it was mostly over and they would only do occasional alarms the rest of the day. Having the sound cancelling on that many hours made it difficult for me to know my spacial awareness… and I had a headache and felt yucky. So I decided to just have some tea and chill the rest of the day rather than blog.

The good news is that hopefully the fire alarm tests that we were told would continue thru next week won’t be as disruptive as it was yesterday… so I think I’ll be able to blog daily.

I really don’t know what I’ve done today… I’ve been so out of sorts today, so I don’t have anything else to show. I think I might even go to bed early in an attempt to reset myself.

I have two Live Online classes tomorrow, so I should have some stuff to show on Monday. See you then?
