Paper Play, Photo Stands, and a Disco Ball WIP…

Hey All!

I had a pretty productive weekend and I’m excited to show you what I did.

Saturday

I had two Live Online classes on Saturday. The first one was a workshop for Sketchbook Bootcamp, and honestly I thought I’d just hang with my art friends because the class was going to be on collaging, which isn’t really my vibe.

We started out by just painting some random strokes on some scrap paper… I had some scraps of watercolor paper so I created some abstract art on 3 pieces, one in greens, one in blues, and one in pinks. Then we set that aside to let it dry. Next she had the class tear up some brown paper bags… I choose to skip this part, also I didn’t have a bag to tear up.

Once I realized that the pieces were basically going to be used for blob art, I quickly painted some grey blobs on my paper.

Then the fun began… and I created some fun stuff and had a good time…

.

The second class I attended was a Ornament painting class… which again, I signed up to hang with my art friends and to get some practice with gouache. So I didn’t paint an ornament, but painted in my sketchbook… and I had a great time…

Sunday

On Sunday morning my brain decided to give me a solution to a problem I forgot I had. Every year we donate to Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt a Turkey program, and they would send us a 5×7 card with the Turkey’s picture and a blurb about the Turkey’s personality and likes. This year (and last) I decided to get the digital cards and print them myself. Which I did, but on 4×6 photo paper rather than a ‘card’… so I couldn’t prop them up as well… soooo my brain had a solution for me…

Photo stands! I think it was all the paper play from the day before that really opened up my mind…

.

And I can fold the stand back down so that I can store the photos flat until next year. 🙂

Monday

I recently purchased some pearlescent watercolors…

.

Today I started working on a disco ball piece and I think the pearlescent watercolors will work really well. It’s still in process and I have many more coats to do, but here’s what I’ve got so far…

.

That’s all I have for today, see you tomorrow?

Until next time…
