Hey All!

Soooo… I seem to be having difficulty focusing these last few days/week… and I didn’t have anything to show yesterday. Dailies are getting harder to accomplish… but I’m going to keep trying to keep it fun and do my best.

Today I had a bit more luck getting some things accomplished. After having a bit of fun with the 31 baby boos and scary dudes, I purchased some more books from the Karen Campbell collection. Originally I was just going to get the Wonky Woofers, then maybe the Wacky Whiskers… then I just decided to get the whole set of 5… because reasons.

I decided to start with the first book, Widdle Women and had a bit of fun with the first watercolor woman, Sleepy Sue. I forgot how impatient I am when I watercolor… I don’t use a hairdryer, it forces me to step away and come back with fresh eyes when I let it dry naturally.

So I still want to try to push the shadows more and of course, then I’ll have to add some highlights. And the pupils of her eyes… you know, ten thousand more layers, that’s all. But I thought I’d go ahead and show you what I’ve got so far…

I think when I started the drawing I was really into the swirls of the hair… but now I’m looking at the shape of the face and I hate to say it, but I see a wedge of cheese. 🤣 I wonder if I can ‘fix’ it by making more hair lines around the face. I’ll have to experiment. Because you know what… it’s just paper. And experimenting is how you learn.

So I’m going to keep trying to post M-F daily (weekdaily? is that a word? ) this month. See you tomorrow?
