Finally Finished Old Blue, Plus some Procreate Landscape Play…

Hey All!

I’ve been on the struggle bus lately, it’s been difficult to have enough energy to post the last couple of days. And I don’t know why, but Tech Gremlins seem to be having fun with my stuff lately.

Anywho… I’ve got some stuff to show.

This weekend I attended a Live Online Procreate class, taught by Peggy Dean, Playful Landscapes. The Tech Gremlins were strong that day in multiple areas… so I did the best I could to try to keep up with the lesson… here’s what I was able to accomplish in class.

.

I let a few days pass, in hopes that the Tech Issues would resolve… and mostly they did. There is still some quirkiness but I was able to work around it, mostly. Here’s what I accomplished by starting with the sketch draft from class and then just working on it on my own, trying to remember what was said in class… using a color palette closer to my tastes, and adding a bit of my own style…

.

I also worked on the donkey, Old Blue… this was definitely a struggle for me. I don’t know why this one in particular stayed in the ‘ugly stage’ for soooooo long. I just kept adding layers upon layers until I was somewhat happy with it. I’ll probably do another one, or two, because I think this one needs me to practice it more. But for now, here’s what I’ve got. It’s not exactly where I wanted to end up, but it is better than where I started…

.

And… I made a gif of the process… I also don’t understand why on the blog page it has the transparent checkerboard… more Tech Gremlins…

.

And what they look like as a full page spread…

.

This daily thing is somehow much much harder this month. So I’m not going to promise that, or expect it of myself. December is full of complicated feelings for me as it is, I’m not going to add to the stress. So what I will say is, I will endeavor to continue to draw daily… if I have something to show or say, I’ll post.

See you next time?

Until next time…
