Hey All!

I didn’t have a lot of time today, but I did find a little bit of time to try to sculpt out my new character, Willow… what I’m trying to see with the sculpt is how the stripes move when the character twists.

One of my Art Nest friends suggested I try Sculpey Premo… it arrived today and so I played around with that… but it wasn’t easy. And it wasn’t really what I was wanting. So I resculpted Willow with my kneaded erasures and it went a bit better.

It’s not perfect because the kneaded erasure is flat… but it might work for seeing how the lines on the stripes move. I looked up what they use for claymation, and went down a rabbit hole for awhile… and then realized that maybe I’m spending waaaaay too much time on the sculpting… because again, I just wanted to see how the stripes moved… not turn this into another project entirely. I’m telling myself this, not you, not really. I was this close to purchasing more clay… I want to draw… and this might just be productive procrastination. I’ll sleep on it and see if I still want the claymation clay.
