Hey All!

Last night I was thinking that the creative wall I keep hitting might be foreshortening. So I watched a couple of YouTube videos and then let the ideas simmer while I slept.

I realized that my most recent sculpt is pretty useful, in that the overall shape of Willow is a rounded pyramid 4-sided die… and if I start there… then perhaps I can do what I’m trying to do.

So today, I took my little sculpt and basically did some quick sketches while I changed the position of the sculpt… then I painted it a bit… and added some flooring… and some shadows/highlights… I think I’m in the ballpark…

Now, I think my next move is to try to figure out what to do with the character. What is Willow doing? I think there might be a character questionnaire somewhere in my random stuff around here. I was also thinking of trying to find a list of action verbs and nouns… ie. holding a cup, reading a book, etc.

I’ll let my brain work on it tonight and see what I come up with. Soooo… today is Friday. Last weekend I forgot that I was going to take weekends off and so I went ahead and posted because I said I’d be back the next day. But this weekend, I think I’ll go ahead and take that break… see you Monday?
