Hey All!

I’ve been playing with Willow this weekend and I have so much to show you!

One of my art friends in the Art Nest has been helping me come up with ideas, along with my husband and then my weird brain adds more to the mix. It’s been fun.

So first we decided that Willow should be in the water, she’s buoyant and a good swimmer, but perhaps uses arm floaties or a life saver to be in the water leisurely… so I came up with these sketches…

I liked the life saver one more and inked and painted that one… and thought I’d give her Portuguese Man ‘o War Jellyfish friends…

Next up, we decided Willow would skydive… at first I thought I’d have her in the skydiving equipment… but then I remembered that she is a plant and an alien… and that her body can be reshaped a bit… so I thought that she could be like a dandelion seed. We also thought of the spinner seeds that come from maple trees, sometimes called helicopter seeds… so I came up with these sketches…

We liked the first two most… so I sketched them out a bit more.

Now, I’m working on inking and painting them… I still need to add shadows and highlights… oh, and I think I’ll add an additional strap across the waist or chest to hold the parachute pack on… Ooo and goggles….
