WIP Completed & DC#315…

Woooo!  I finished my coloring (from the coloring book – Imagimorphia) last night! 🙂  I made note of the time… it took me 1 hour to do the light blue, another 1 hour to do the darker blue shading, then about 10 minutes to do the cotton ball/nupastel area.  My husband suggested not coloring in the little dude but maybe color his eyes, so I left him for last while I thought about it.  When I was doing the cotton ball/nupastel process I put drafting tape over the little dude to protect him, then went around his edges with a Qtip.  I really liked him not colored at all, and my husband agreed.  😀  The seam really stood out, so I went back and tried to remember the colors I did in those areas, I got lucky this time that it was mainly the tree and I knew which browns I used for that… in the future I’ll just color the seam when I’m coloring the things near it at the same time… lesson learned.  This morning I sealed it with final fixative.  😀

Here are some close up shots… I really forgot how good it felt to take photos with a real camera!  I’ve been going through stuff lately and I just grab my phone to take photos, instead of taking ‘proper’ photos with my beloved camera.  Shortly after taking these photos, I got out my camera bag and set it up so that I can start carrying around my camera at all times again.  I didn’t realize how much I missed that feeling I get when taking photos.  Anyway, here’s the coloring close-up…

This week’s Diva Challenge (DC#315) is to study the pattern Molygon.  I hadn’t realized that there was a more distinct way of doing the pattern until I watched this video.  For some reason, the “start at the halfway point of the previous molygon” hadn’t registered with me before then… it made a huge difference.  I really like what blossomed out from my Molygon. 😀  I practiced it first on my husband’s mug this morning…

I also tried to incorporate Eni Oken’s Choosing Tangles philosophy when I picked the co-patterns: Msst, Caviar, and Sedgling.  Enjoy…

Hope you are having a good week! 😀

Until next time…

  1. Your coloured tree looks fantastic! And your molygon tile has a perfect balance of black and white, the sedglings looking great with their little white highlights!
