Previously on Owl Watch… a lone Owlet had returned to the cave on a cold and windy night…

The next morning I went to see if they were ok…

Unfortunately, I had my camera set to my default settings, which where were ALL WRONG for this time of day at the cave… and I grabbed four quick shots in a burst of the whole family in the cave! AAArrrgggg! It was four images that were so underexposed they were practically all black… but thru the magic of post-processing I was able to pull out some details…

It was taking me too long to adjust my settings, so I quickly just pushed the video record button (which has auto settings) and tried to set up my tripod quickly… that’s when the Male Owl flew away…

Well, I sort of got it on tape…. it’s really quick. Then Mama Owl watches after him at a lean, which I think was really cute, it reminds me of the Owl in Winnie the Pooh… I think because that owl was always drawn leaning to one side. Then Mama Owl gives me the required dirty look, haha. At the end of the video, Mama Owl and one of the Owlets nuzzle faces and preen each other, too cute.

I was not able to figure out how to remove the heat distortion on this video, it’s kind of frustrating… but it’s just not in my skill set yet. And I guess I don’t know the right jargon to find an answer on the internet, I can only find how to add heat distortion, not remove it. *sigh*

I have more footage from this day, but I thought I’d put this part up now… and start from scratch for the evening video footage.

Anyway… enjoy the movie…
