Hey all! Wow time is just whizzing by…

So last my last post I spoke about attending a Live Online Repeat Pattern Class with Peggy Dean… I did that AND I signed up for her full course after that. So I’ve been making lots and lots of repeating patterns. I’ve also been playing around with mockups.

So in class we did a couple of cute patterns, which I’ve put on this little mockup…

But the real work was taking the cute critters from my floral pattern and making them their own. I’m working towards making a 3 pattern set, so that I can make them wrapping paper in my store.

I’ve got a nice set of critters, I’m trying to work smarter not harder. So now I’m trying to figure out which ones to combine to make a third pattern…

Clearly the running theme between them is the bees with their flight trails (and the color palette)… but now I’m trying to decide if I draw something new or grab a little from each to make a third.

I also wanted to give a little shoutout to Unsplash and the photographer where I got the mockup image that I altered with a little magic… here’s the original photo by Look Studio SJax…
