Hey All!
I had a much needed break and during that break I realized that I am probably in my hibernation period for arting. My muse really just wants to sit quietly playing a game on my ipad right now. I know that in a short amount of time the desire to create and/or watch art classes will hit me again, but in the meantime I’m going to listen to the quiet request from my muse to sit and be for a bit. That said, I think for the month of May, I’ll only post on Fridays. That way I don’t have this desire to come up with something to share, but will actually take the clearly much longer break I crave.
I did create a little something over the past few days that I can share today. I was flipping thru a book on my bookshelf that I bought many years ago called The Art of Drawing Dangles by Olivia A. Kneibler. I decided to play around and I chose the phrase, “I am Strong”. It is a mantra I say to myself while I’m doing planks in yoga class. Initially I was going to leave it as a sketchy drawing and a ‘work in progress’ signifying that I too was a work in progress. Then over the next few days I kept noodling with it until I got a ‘finished’ version that I was happy with. I enjoyed taking my time with this piece and not trying to rush it. I made you a gif of some of the versions it went thru. The color palette I chose in the end was a palette one of my art friends had used in a piece of their art, I liked it and it wasn’t a combo I would have come up for myself and so I wanted to see what I could do with it in my own art.

Here’s the finished piece…

That’s all I have for today, see you next Friday, May 15?
Until next time…
