Hey All!

How is it Friday already?! I’ve been steadily working on my mini collection… let’s get to it.

Last post I mentioned that I took some time to figure out what color palette I wanted… from there, I thought of some friends to add to the cat…

Then I put some ideas together… and cleaned it up. My ‘hero’ illustration came out like this…

Next I tried to come up with a pattern from the motifs in that hero illustration… I gotta say, I really know how to make something more complicated than it has to be… hahaha. I thought the zigzag pattern in the back would be fun to play with, but when I went to create a seamless pattern, my brain just couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working like I wanted it to… it came out way to complicated and just too much… so I slept on it… and the next day it came to me what I needed to do to ‘fix’ it. I got the pattern to work like I wanted and it is much more soothing than it was the day before. Here’s where I’m at right now with the pattern… it needs to be cleaned up, but I finally got the idea and the pattern to work… so now I just need to color it and clean up some lines…
