This year for Inktober, I decided to play with drawing dragons, at least until my muse wants to do something else. I’m apparently also still working on Karen Campbell’s 31 days of Baby Boos & Spooky Dudes book where we take a fountain pen and a waterbrush and make magic.

Somehow after only two days I already have 6 drawing/paintings to show… let’s get to it…

Inktober Days 1 & 2

I decided to learn how to draw dragons this Inktober, I found several VODs on Karen Campbell’s Awesome Art School Celtic Collective. These two dragons really spoke to my muse as ones to try first… I’m really happy with them…

I also have some fun dragons I want to use as reference from artists like Brian Kesinger and Travis Hanson (but those will be later).

31 Days Baby Boos & Spooky Dudes Book, Days 13-16

I’m still working thru this fun book where we use a fountain pen and a waterbrush to make magic…

I got a new fountain pen to try out and the ink is a bit more reactive to the water than my previous pen, so there was a bit of a learning curve to not let the water make a muddy mess, see exhibit Day 14, sloppy joe where the ink and water totally got away from me. It is all good, making mistakes is how you learn…

For Day 15, the storytime spector, I used a new-to-me art supply called a stablio… it is also water soluble and was fun to try out.

Ok, back to it… I need to figure out what I’m drawing for day 3.
