Hey All!

For this year’s Inktober I decided I was going to learn how to draw dragons.

This week I decided to do some Master Studies of Brian Kesinger’s dragons from his book, Penned Dragons. I have his kickstarter book. His drawings are sketched out on toned paper with a blue pencil, then inked in black, and then white highlights are added… I love that look.

For my versions, though, I sketched the dragons from his book in graphite, and then I painted them with watercolors. I thought about inking them with black ink, but for these I decided to mix a darker version of the watercolor and to practice my linework with a small paintbrush…
